Dear Ken, after reading ‘Fall of Giants’, I am currently reading ‘Winter of the World’ and you have inspired me to write my grandmother's story. She was born in 1914 and German and I recently inherited a box containing her photos and paperwork, including a family secret or two :) I just wanted to thank you for writing such wonderful books.

Dear Mr. Follett, I am 24 from Philadelphia, Pa, and I am completely blind so most of the books I read are audio. I love to read your books, and they are always my go-tos and I recommend them all the time. You are my all time favorite author. Please don't stop writing. My favorite series is the Kingsbridge books, but ‘A Place Called Freedom’ is also a great book!

I don't want to take to much of your time, but have you ever considered writing a book or two or three linking the Kingsbridge books to the Century trilogy? I think that would be awesome covering the 1600s through the 1800's. ‘A Place called Freedom’ could almost be one of the books, but just an idea. I hope that isn't a laughable idea :)

Thank you for your great books!

P.S. John Lee is an amazing narrator. Maybe he could read the proposed books? haha

I am not one to write reviews, post things online, or message anyone, but I have just finished reading 'Lie Down With Lions', and it so impacted me that I felt I must let you know. That was without a doubt the best book I have ever read and I do so hope you write something like that again in the future! The painstaking effort you used in developing the characters (especially Jane) was so thorough, it not only made me feel as though I had a personal connection with them, but it has also given me separation anxiety after finishing the book as you get so emotionally close to the characters and hate to see the story end. And as in 'Eye of the Needle', I love love love the strong and passionate women at the center of the story and the suspenseful chase that keeps you wide-eyed the entire time you are reading (however I do believe 'Lie Down With Lions' was the best book you have written and even takes the cake over 'Eye Of the Needle' in my opinion!!!)

I discovered you through 'The Pillars of the Earth' which was recommended by a friend. I remember the feeling and my thoughts when I completed the book: I would like to come back to the first page to read it for the first time going through emotions again. I could do not imagine what I was expecting. From that moment, I’m always waiting for a new novel and, when I got one in my hands, I savour the feeling to be not deceived, waiting -- sometimes days -- for the right moment to open it, extending this delightful promise.

Dear Mr Follett,
My father, who never read a book since he was 18 (he's 64), started reading 'Fall of Giants' two weeks ago. He likes history and reads 50 pages each evening (and night).

1 month ago reading 2 pages seemed a mountain to him...

Thank you for giving him the taste to start reading again !

Best wishes and congrats on everything,

Having read your 'Pillars' books, and more recently your 20th century trilogy, I simply had to find some way to thank you for enriching my knowledge, my understanding and ...my life! I had never cared very much about modern history and mostly eschewed reading about WW’s I and II. But in 'Fall', etc., you couched the underlying mentalities of the European, British and Russian countrymen in such a way I will never forget, nor misunderstand the deeper forces responsible for creating those monumental disasters.

I have referred to & recommended your books to many. Between your books, and those of geopolitician George Friedman, I now have a much more complete grasp on the history and development of more recent world events.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your research & excellent efforts.

Dear M. Follett,
I would like to tell you that you're an amazing writer. I read a lot, but I've never read books like yours. I really admire you, you have a real talent to write something that actually happened, like WWI or WWII.
I don't know what to say, except thank you for your histories, and continue to write !

Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I just want to thank you for writing what you do. I've just finished your Century trilogy, and a long with the Kingsbridge books, they have to be the best books I have ever read. I learned more about world politics in the books than I ever learned at school! Only a few authors can make you visualise the individual characters of a book, and I was actually a bit sad to finish the final pages.

Many thanks,

You remind me of Anthony Trollope! I had never read any of your novels until I bought the Century trilogy at a book fair. I just finished all three books and am sure I'm going to struggle to leave the characters behind me. I loved them all. Now starting 'The Pillars of the Earth'. You are, indeed, the master of multiple storylines and characters. I'm hooked on you! I don't know how I missed you all these years. I'm catching up...
