Hi, just read ‘A Column of Fire’. Fabulous read. Best of many books read this year. Great historical detail. Felt like I was actually living the period.

Dear Mr. Follett,
Yesterday I finished the third book of your Century Trilogy and I just wanted to say THANK YOU. Thank you for writing such a riveting story that captured my attention and helped me fall in love with reading again. With two very young children, reading has not been high on my priority list these days. However, this summer I took a lengthy vacation and happened upon your section in my local library. I delved into ‘Fall of Giants’ and was hooked. I have devoured these three books and loved every chapter.
I particularly wanted to tell you how much it piqued my interest in the politics of the last century. I am 37 years old so I've learned about these events from history books. However, your books awakened an interest in me for a better understanding of global politics that have led us to where we are today. I spent a lot of my spare time these last few months questioning friends and relatives who lived in the middle of the century about the events they remember.
Your books opened up conversations with my family members about the Vietnam war, civil rights, Martin Luther King, the Berlin Wall, WWII and so much more. It was an honor to read your writing. Today I went to my local library and checked out ‘Jackdaws’. My next venture into your writing.
Thank you for your masterful work.

Dear Ken, I read almost all your novels. The best ones are the novels from the Kingsbridge series. Few days ago I bought ‘A Column of Fire’, and I am literally spellbound by this book. You are one of my favourite writers. Keep it up with your great and beautiful work!!! Hope you personally read this message.
Thank you very much

Dear Mr Follett,
When I was young, I decided to read a book by Agatha Christie. As soon as I finished the first one, I had an irresistible desire to read them all, which I did... I had the same feeling almost 30 years later with when I started reading ‘The Pillars of the Earth’.. and I read your books one after the other with the same pleasure. I wanted to thank you for that.
Regards and thanks

Only this year I found out about your novels. I read the Knightbridge trilogy in English - many years ago I studied English and Dutch - and was overwhelmed. The combination of plot, charters, historical context and the way you use language make your books a pleasure to read. Music makes me emotional often. So did several scenes.
A few days ago, I started reading ‘Fall of Giants’, and have already fallen in love with Billy, Ethel and Grigori. I think that your characters, and the way you put them in history, make us understand history much more.
Thank you for hours and hours of superb, emotional and informative literary pleasure.
I look forward to your letters. Please write to me via the Contact page, and do see earlier letters…
If you’ve read several of my books, you might enjoy matching the first line with the title, or guessing the working title
