Ken, I completely understand if I don’t receive a reply back from you but I just wanted to say how truly an amazing writer you are. I picked up a copy of ‘World Without End’ a few years ago on my ship’s library (I’m in the US Navy). I was looking for a really long book to read and that looked appealing to me. Little did I know how captivated I would be by this book. I couldn’t put it down for days!! Shortly after I read it, I was excited to find out that ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ was the prequel and there was a mini series. I was in love with this book and show immediately! I find myself trying to read other books but I always go back to these two fascinating books. I just started reading ‘Fall of Giants’ and I’m already in love with it! I can’t wait until ‘Winter of the World’. You are truly a remarkable author and look forward to your future works. And of course, I follow you on Facebook! :) thank you so much for what you do!

I just wanted to say thank you. Very few people have the courage and perseverance to develop their personal talents that touch and become a gift to millions of people. My father was the first one in my family to find out about you as an author (we are a huge reading family) and we’ve never put down your books since. I’ve recommended your work to several of my friends and they’ve all become instant fans. Thank you for your wonderful work! And now, I am going to do my very favorite thing: sit by the window with a cup of tea and a good book! Tonight’s book is one that, no matter how much I re-read it, I can never put it down. It is titled, ‘Night Over Water’; I believe you know the author!

From ‘Eye of the Needle’ to ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ to ‘World Without End’ etc. I enjoy every page and to be honest I am greedy in such a way that I want to read and yet not to finish the book. Every story telling is brilliant – from medieval times to modern day times story such as ‘The Third Twin’. ‘Fall of Giants’ took me way back to the pre first world war times with such clarity, it was almost like watching a documentary.

Dear Mr. Follett,
I have been reading ‘The Pillars of the Earth’. It has been a truly amazing and exhilarating journey. I like your style and story telling. I am really happy that I get to read one of modern literary giants.
Thank you,

I want to let you know that I love your writing. I am an English professor and a writer myself, and I usually dislike historical fiction because writers often take great liberties with characters from real life, and/or alter important historical details to fit their plots. I admire your attention to accuracy and your way of fitting real-life historical characters into your stories plausibly. The characters you create make me care about what happens to them — so much so that I am drawn in and finish a 900+ page book in a few days.

My partner and I are semi-retired and now on a ten-week holiday in Europe — mainly Spain. I had watched ‘Pillars of Earth’ but didn’t connect the story with you. I rarely read but this holiday decided to get a good book. I found the first book in your trilogy ‘The Century’ in a local shop. I bought it and thoroughly enjoyed the story — fantastic! Can’t wait for the follow-ups. I also found copies of some of your earlier books which I’m working my way through. Thank you for renewing my interest and enjoyment in reading.
Best wishes

I would just like to say thank you for your work. The first novel I read of yours was ‘Code to Zero’. I was captured by the story. I read a few other works of yours and then I read ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ followed by ‘World Without End’. I am now a solid fan and I am looking forward to continuing the journey of your storytelling in the ‘Century’ series. I have finished ‘Fall of Giants’ and am looking forward to the next book. Keep up the great work and thank you for allowing me to enter your worlds.

WOW! WOW! WOW! — Thank you for such fantastic books. ‘Fall of Giants’ was the first of your books that I have read. ‘Pillars of the Earth’ — ‘World Without End’ next.

What a talent you have for story telling. Thank you for so many enjoyable hours. I hate it when I have finished one of your books as it feels like saying good bye to great friends and seeing the end of some not so nice characters.

I have just finished reading ‘Fall of Giants’. I enjoyed reading it tremendously — could not put it down. I cannot wait to read the sequel which comes out next month, I believe. I have read most of your books & enjoyed all of them. I’m not sure which one I enjoyed most.

Thank you for doing all this hard work before delivering these wonderful and very interesting novels. Not many writers respect their readers as much as you do. Keep creating!

I think you are a fabulous writer. ‘Pillars’ is the greatest novel I ever read. I’m 80 and have read all my life. Hope you know that is saying a lot about your writing.

I wrote a note of praise for your latest series of historical novels and while waiting for the next volume of the ‘Fall of Giants’ trilogy I decided to go back and read some of your older novels, some of which I had read many years ago. I did have a concern that they might seem dated or irrelevant to me now. I was so wonderfully mistaken. I’m reading ‘Jackdaws’ now and have finished off half a dozen of your earlier works, each of which is as riveting and timely as when they were written.

I just want to thank you for your contributions to our literary world and to my enjoyment of reading books that are thought provoking, intelligent and exciting!

I always enjoy reading your books. The problem is that I don’t want to do anything else. Love being retired as it gives me more time to read. Always keep your readers wanting more.

Just read ‘Fall of Giants’ which I am ashamed to say is the first book of yours I have ever read. I could not put it down and finished it in 4 days. Am eagerly awaiting ‘Winter of the World’ and am also starting to make my way through your back catalogue. I am anticipating an enjoyable journey as FOG was one of the best books that I have ever read and I have read many.
Thank you very much

Dear Mr. Follett,
I chanced upon ‘Fall of Giants’ while looking for the thickest book to read. It was superb and had me gripped till the end. After that I read ‘Pillars of the Earth’ and ‘World Without End’… and carried on reading every one of your books. I was impatiently waiting for ‘Winter of the World’ and you can imagine my delight when I found out that it will be released soon. Thank you for making reading such a wonderful passion.
