Eye of the Needle, published in 1978, was Ken’s 11th novel. It won an Edgar Award and was made into an acclaimed film starring Kate Nelligan and Donald Sutherland – who also starred in thePillars of the Earthmini-series more than 30 years later.
The Pillars of the Earthrepresented a radical change for a writer known for his thrillers. It is Ken’s most popular novel.
